I am a mother of six kids. Two boys and four cute little girls. Treating them fairly and equally has been my goal every single day of our lives. I don't want them to think and feel that I am favoring one of them. I know pretty well how hard it is to be least favored by someone. I don't want them to harbor any feeling that they are unwanted and not loved by us. How do I do these?
Whenever I have to buy some things for them, I see to it that all of them get each of their shares. If I have to shop for their clothes, I get shirts of the same styles but different colors. Sometimes, I just go for one color so that there will be no room for jealousy. The same goes with their toys and school stuffs.
When I have time alone for one kid, I see to it that I spend quality time with him/her. This is my own little way of expressing my deepest affection to my children. I pour all my time , attention and If budget permits to a particular kid that I am dating. I just bring home "pasalubong" to my kids left at home.
I know that our family is a big one. Life is tough these days with all the recession issues and stuff. I just make it a point that I spend quality time with my every child as much as I could. I want them not to regret going out with me. I date them one by one If I have a chance. Kids are a little bit selfish at times. I understand this absolutely.
Raising a lot of children is quite hard financially and emotionally these days especially this time of recession and crises around us. Having many kids is not that ideal. Plan ahead of time. Bear in mind that we, parents, ought to know that every child is not a burden but a gift from God. We must do our responsibilities to them. It is our duty to raise them well. We must educate them to be a well rounded citizen and a God fearing people.
