When To Give Your Kids A Cell Phone?

As a parent, I am always facing so many problems with regards to my kids' wants and needs. Some are petty and some are truly nerve wrecking. Any parent would agree with me that it is always the ultimate goal of most of us--to make our children happy. If we could only give in to all their caprices as long as they are not destructive or might cause them harm, I bet that we would not bat an eyelash and give in to their wants. What would a parent do if his child suddenly asks for his very own cell phone? Would you give in or not?Read more.

My Kids Got Chicken Pox!!!

Having six kids, sometimes I think I can handle situations as in sickness and the like. It was one of those days last Christmas break when my second child, Matt, approached me and asked me what was this reddish and pimple like rashes that was right under his chin. I looked at it and told him that it was just probably a pimple. I said so because, he was on his teens. He is fourteen now. I assume that he was entering his adolescence and so, pimples are just normal. Two days after, Matt approached me again and told me that he had two or three of some sorts in his head. I started to get worried. Then New Year's eve came, we are having a family reunion when Matt told me that he had fever. I didn't take it too seriously because the weather in the Philippines these days are in its coldest until February. We went to Pampanga to visit my husband's kin there as some sort of a surprise get together. Matt was not in his good condition already. We spent the night there. There were already blisters all over his body. Pampanga is a province so, there are so many quack doctors around. Some people there assessed such blisters as PALTIK and we have to sought for the help of a quack doctor around to stop its spreading in his body. I just agreed as a sign of respect to whatever tradition that they have there. The man took a needle and outlined all the blisters. When he was about to dispose of the needle, he uttered some chants. We couldn't help but grin at the sight. When we got home, we took Matt to the nearest hospital. He was still high in fever. We found out that he has chicken pox. My, who would ever thought that he could get chicken pox in this cold weather. Chicken pox are known to come out during summer time. The bottom line of my story is that never take things for granted. Be bothered when some rashes start to come out in your kids skin. Never rely on quack doctors. It is still best to consult a doctor.
